Ibis Landing

Ibis live around the world–but usually in more temperate regions of the southern hemisphere. There are around 30 species.

The smallest is 5cm tall–the dwarf olive ibis. The tallest grows to over a meter–the giant ibis (these can be found in the remote forests of Cambodia and southern Laos).

They are social birds–they usually flock together to feed and find partners during the mating season.

They usually rest in the safety of trees–because they are so large.

According to biblical tradition, Moses used the ibis to help him defeat the Ethiopians.
