The Coatimundi lives on both ground and in trees, and is active during both day and night.
They are native to Central America’s mangrove forests along the Caribbean coast, the lowland savannas, and the interior tropical forests.
Can you guess what family it belongs to?
The raccoon family.
Coatimundi live in groups. Around 30 individuals live together, and when the group is startled, they all will leap into the trees and make clicking and woofing noises.
They sleep at night in tree tops in nests of leaves and branches.
