Potoos are nocturnal, and are a rare sight for humans.
They are also known variously as mother-of-the-moon and ghost bird.
They live in the warmer regions of the New World.

A stick. Potoos stiffen themselves when they fear a threat, and they are not easily scared out of this posture.
